A US teenager who broke into a Florida home has pleaded guilty to beating and sexually assaulting the 91-year-old homeowner.
Jesse Stone, 14, who appeared before the judge last Thursday reached a plea deal, according to court documents seen by media outlet WCJB, the “New York Post” reported Monday.
The suspect who entered the victim’s residence in the Reddick area was tagged by his DNA which allowed investigators to identify and arrest him, according to a release from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
It all started with a video recorded by the victim’s neighbors which dates back to the night of the attack, showing the suspect jogging in front of the house he wanted to rob, according to the American media.
The young teenager initially tried to deny the charges against him, but he ended up confessing after being confused by the images in the video showing him wearing the clothes.
“It’s a shock that an individual could commit such an act on a 91-year-old person, but it’s really disturbing when you see the young age of the person arrested,” Sheriff Billy Woods told local media. specifies that the verdict is expected on December 19.
