I immediately told myself that it was over,” she testified on France 3. After several hours of searching, Peanut’s corpse was found, in a terrible state, “hair and blood everywhere. His body is stretched out, there is nothing left. Just his spine.”

“There are packs of wolves in the area”

When the body of the animal was discovered, Alda was extremely shocked and did not recover it: “I screamed when I discovered it. I screamed like I’ve never screamed before. » When she decides to return there the next day, Peanut’s remains have disappeared: “He must surely have been kidnapped by other animals. There are packs of wolves around. » The dog’s owners filed a complaint against X this Thursday. For them, there is no doubt, Peanut was attacked by a hunting pack. Alda is convinced she heard several barks.

A walker assured him that she had encountered hunters and two dogs in the parking lot. A bullet casing was also reportedly found near the body. However, the accident area is closed to hunting. The couple decided to launch an online petition calling on the Marseille prefecture, asking for “a strict ban on hunting in this protected area with reinforced controls, severe sanctions for hunters who violate the regulations of these areas and enforcement measures. increased security to guarantee the tranquility of walkers and preserve local wildlife.” It has already been signed by 10,000 people.

“They have insurance”

Contacted by France 3, the Bouches-du-Rhône Departmental Federation of Hunters believes that the attack came more from wolves: “If it had been the hunters, they would have intervened and taken responsibility, as they have insurance. » The director of the federation affirms that he would have been ready to pay for Peanut’s autopsy in order to shed light on this affair.
