F-15 fighter jets arrived in the Middle East on Thursday, the US military said, a week after Washington announced the deployment of additional military assets in this region as a warning to Iran.
These devices, usually based in England, the number of which was not specified, arrived in the area of responsibility of Centcom, the American military command for the Middle East, according to the army.
The US Department of Defense announced last week that it would send bombers, fighter jets, refueling aircraft and air defense ships to the Middle East.

“If Iran, its partners, or affiliated groups take advantage of this moment to target U.S. personnel or interests in the region, the United States will take all necessary steps to [se] defend,” the Pentagon then indicated.
Israel, of which the United States is the unwavering ally, has been at war against Palestinian Hamas in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023 and faces Lebanese Hezbollah on its northern border. Both groups are supported by Iran.

Iran has attacked Israel twice this year: in April, after a strike on its consulate in Damascus attributed to Israel, and in October, in retaliation for the assassinations in Beirut of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and , in Tehran, of Hamas political leader Ismaïl Haniyeh.
On October 26, Israel responded to this latest attack by carrying out airstrikes against military targets in Iran.
