On June 6, 2024, at the invitation of Invest Africa, PHC participated in the tenth edition of Africa Debate in the prestigious Guildhall in the City of London.

Invest Africa is a leading trading and investment platform with over sixty years of experience in Africa providing unique insights and exposure to global investment opportunities. The Africa Invest network comprises over 400 member companies comprising multinationals, private equity firms, institutional investors, development finance institutions, professional services organizations, government agencies and entrepreneurs.

The 10e edition of the Africa Debate opened with a debate between the President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Akinwumi Adesina, with the CEO of Africa Finance Corporation, Samaila Zubairu, and the British Minister of State for of Development and Africa, Andrew Mitchell. The debate revolved around Africa’s role in a changing world order. Mrs. Monique GIESKES, General Director of PHC, presented the history of PHC in the DRC and the transformation that this company has experienced over the last three years, the positive impact on its employees, its surrounding communities, its investors and on the environment. . Conference organizers called the presentation a great example of building a responsible business.

Before the opening of the Africa Debate conference, Mrs. Monique GIESKES and Mr. Adewale ADEOSUN, majority investor of PHC, were invited to the opening ceremony of the London Stock Exchange in the company of the President of the AfDB, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina. At the end of the conference, the PHC delegation met Congolese citizens living in London who had come to express their support for PHC and the impact that this company is creating in the DRC.

The day before the conference, Mrs. Monique GIESKES, CEO of PHC, was the guest of the African Export-Import Bank at a special session at which five African companies were selected to present their investment needs.

The days of June 5 and 6, 2024 in London were an opportunity to inform the business world of investment opportunities in the DRC, especially in the field of agribusiness. The many investors present, through their questions and comments, were able to realize that the DRC is today a destination of choice for businessmen and women wanting to make investments that are profitable for investors, but also generate a positive social impact for the Congolese populations and which are respectful of the environment.
