A 6 year old girlfound unconscious in a forest in Swiss after disappearing while participating in a family celebration, died this Monday, May 20, 2024, the local police announced in a press release.

Transported in critical condition to the Chuv (the Vaud university hospital center) in Lausanne aboard a helicopter, the little girl died this Monday late in the morning, Valais police said.

The police services had been informed the day before, on Sunday May 19, at 5:54 p.m., of the disappearance of the little girl who was taking part in a family party, in the region of Ravoire, a locality in the commune of Martigny-Combe in the canton from Valais. She was playing around the party and hadn’t been seen since 5 p.m.

A game of hide and seek with children?

The circumstances of the tragedy still remain unexplained, details the local media The Nouvelliste, who explains that on Sunday, the children were playing a game of hide and seek near the party at the time of his disappearance. The child was found unconscious in a steep embankment.

The police, with air assets and more than 200 volunteers, had deployed a major search system. Sunday evening, at 9:20 p.m., a search carried out in the forest, located not far from the party, resulted in the unconscious little girl being found. She didn’t survive.

The exact circumstances of this tragedy are the subject of an investigation carried out by the public prosecutor and the cantonal police, the latter indicated.
