The Gambian President, Adama Barrow, does not want to hear about limiting the number of mandates in his country. During a recent interview with the media of his party, NPP, the Gambian President recalled that the Gambian Constitution does not take this into account. Those who talk about limiting the number of mandates are the opponents of the UDP, accused the leader.

Fortunately, it is not up to them to nominate the NPP candidate in the next presidential election, rejoiced Adama Barrow.

“This responsibility is in the hands of the members of (my) party,” assures the occupant of the State House, before announcing his candidacy for 2026.
»I want to tell them (the UDP) that I will be a candidate in 2026. Let them come and beat me. Gambians are not stupid, they know who works and who does not,” said Adama Barrow, visibly impatient to face historic opponent Ousainou Darboe at the polls.
“I want to reassure him. When I’m done with him this time, he’s not going to bounce back,” Barrow said as a bit of a promise to the 76-year-old lawyer.
President Barrow’s remarks were reported by the online newspaper “The Standard”.
