Several people were injured but one of the pedestrians died instantly.
It was 4:13 a.m., during the night from Friday to Saturday, when Catalan emergency services were called to intervene to assist a group of young people who had just been hit by a car near Caldes de Montbui (Catalonia).
According to the first information provided by the Diari de Girona, the vehicle was driven by a young 18-year-old driver who had just obtained her license. The young people who came from Caldes de Montbui where the village festival is taking place these days, were walking on the side of the road.
In the group, several people were transported to hospital for more or less serious injuries while a young man of 23 did not get up. He died instantly.
During the blood alcohol test carried out by the police, the young driver tested positive. An investigation has been opened to determine the circumstances of this accident. The driver is being prosecuted for offenses against road safety in addition to murder.
