Are you tired of the Belgian weather and desperately dreaming of sunshine? If moving abroad is a project you have in mind, we may have found the ideal place for you. In fact, the Lombard city of Mantua wishes to attract new inhabitants, and to do this it has put in place some great initiatives which are likely to attract more than one.

This archipelago is ideal for whale watching and is less than five hours by plane from Brussels

Thus, the city undertakes to pay 150 euros on the rent of all workers under the age of 36, whether they are single or form a family. Named “Benvenuti in città”, this aid is aimed at all people who decide to move to the city and who have a rent of at least 350 euros. But Mantua’s efforts do not stop there, since the city has also launched the “Abitare Borgochiesanuova” project, which plans to allocate 67 apartments to new residents with a regular salary, whether families or youth.

In total, the city will invest 200,000 euros, which will help around a hundred people. If Mantua is trying so hard to attract new residents, it is because many homes are currently empty. Applications are open now and will be open until all accommodation is allocated. This assistance will apply for 12 months for all foreign residents (who must be of European nationality or in possession of a long-term residence permit) or 24 months for young people already residing in Mantua and wishing to take off. A great initiative that will perhaps encourage some to take the plunge!
