Two men burst into the restaurant in Quevedo, Ecuador, while Landy Párraga, 23, and another man were standing at a table. The former candidate for the Miss Ecuador competition was then killed in cold blood by the assassins.
Betrayed by an Instagram post
The influencer was found by the killers thanks to an Instagram photo of the restaurant that she had posted on her profile. Only twenty minutes after publication, the hitmen actually arrived in the restaurant before shooting the young woman.
Why was Landy Parraga murdered? It seems that the latter was the mistress of the main drug lord in Ecuador, a certain Leandro Norero, also known by the nickname “El Patron”. Photos of this drug trafficker in the company of the young woman were found on his phone.
The Ecuadorian press evokes suspicions of rapprochements, reports RMC. The miss allegedly used her legal activities to launder her lover’s drug money. However, Leandro Norero was married and worried about retaliation from his wife if his extramarital affair was discovered.
The latter finally died, killed in prison about a year and a half ago. Norero’s widow is alive and well. Enough for the local media to put forward a theory: what if it was she who had ordered the assassination of influencer Landy Parraga, for revenge?
