To mark the arrival of autumn, a study has just revealed the “coziest” place in the world when cold and rainy days set in. Carried out by AllClea travel insurance experts, this analysis aims to identify cities around the world where it is good to travel in autumn, for their particular charm during this season.

To choose the coziest city in the world, different factors were analyzed. Among them, the number of cafes and bookstores per square kilometer, the number of Instagram posts including the term “cozy”, the average amount of precipitation, the number of UNESCO World Heritage sites per square kilometer as well as the number of cinemas, theaters and museums. Taking all these factors into account, the study attempted to determine the coziest city in the world, that is, the one that offers the greatest abundance of comfort and warmth to make it the ultimate fall experience . An overall score out of 100 was then assigned, a sort of usability index. And, good news, Brussels came first in the ranking.

If the Belgian capital comes out on top, it is because of the sublime architecture of its city center, with its listed medieval buildings and its pretty Grand Place. Its cozy cafes, comforting and friendly cuisine are also celebrated, from the famous Brussels waffles to the famous Belgian chocolate. According to AllClea, Bruxelles presents itself as the “warm getaway” par excellence.
In second position, place Pariswhich obtains a comfort score of 69.7/100 thanks to its “unique charm during the fall and winter months”. Its romance, its abundance of cafes, its many indoor spaces to visit and its rich cultural history inevitably contribute to giving it a very special aura in autumn and winter.
In third place, we find Geneva in Switzerland (63.7). “Known primarily as a financial and commercial center, Geneva’s notoriety as a hidden gem of a travel destination is slowly growing.
