Mehdi Lamina, activist and member of the Challenge Association for Equality and Citizenship, called on the local authorities of Casablanca to preserve the development plan of the Mers Sultan district, after it was ranked second most beautiful district in the world, according to a new assessment published by the British magazine Time Out, specializing in arts and leisure.

In a statement to Site Info, Mehdi Lamina stressed that the Mers Sultan district stands out for its unique buildings compared to other districts of the economic capital. He noted that the municipality of Casablanca had preserved several constructions in this neighborhood, hoping that this will continue to create a neighborhood model integrating various architectural designs.

He also indicated that recognition by Time Out magazine will help promote tourism in Casablanca. According to Time Out’s ranking, the Mars Sultan district took second place among 38 global districts, in an assessment aimed at identifying the best areas for living and entertainment in cities around the world.

The Mars Sultan district has surpassed several renowned global areas, being second only to the “Notre-Dame de la Montagne” district in .
