Zapping Autonews Interview with Isack Hadjar: ''With Red Bull you win, you go to F1''
In Toulouse, some people confuse the streets with racing circuits, but when you drive at 201 km/h without a license, the journey rarely ends safely.
When a radar loses its cool
Bellefontaine district in Toulouse around 3:30 a.m. The Mirail police officers monitor a straight line limited to 50 km/h with a brand new radar. Suddenly, the device accelerates: 201 km/h. At the wheel of a 224 horsepower Mercedes GL registered in Switzerland, a 23-year-old student, accompanied by his 19-year-old brother. Officially, it had been “loaned to him for a ride” and upon arrival, the ride ended at the impound for the car and at the station for the driver.
The speedster without a license
The icing on the cake is that the young man doesn't even have a license. “He had just registered for the exam,” reports a police source. Despite the absence of a pink document, the student offered himself a tip worthy of the circuits, disregarding the rules and safety. After a night in police custody, he chose to plead guilty. He will soon have to appear in court, where speed will not work in his favor. From now on, one thing is certain, the license exam, if he takes it one day, may have to wait.
To summarize
In the Toulouse night, a 23-year-old student transformed a quiet straight line in the city center into a Formula 1 circuit. The problem, no driving license, but a 224-horsepower Mercedes and a radar in ambush.
