Marmara SpikeLeague (10th day)
So there was revolt in the air and ideas of rebellion on the Côte d'Azur this weekend in Marmara SpikeLigue. Friday evening, it was first Poitiers who put their plan into action by winning in a big way in Cannes (0-3), the promoted side looking dapper in this first third of the season. Carried by a well-mooned Dusan Nikolic (20 pts at 66% in attack) and brilliantly defended by Jacskon Howe (13 pts including 5 blocks), Alterna Stade Poitevin completely mastered the debates.
The sea air visibly perked up the TVB too. In Nice, Tours won its third success of the season (1-3), at the end of a well-positioned match offensively (8 aces and 56% attack success), like its point guard, Hermans Egleskalns (20 pts including 2 aces). On the Atlantic Coast, the sea spray did not bother Tourcoing. On a trip to Saint-Nazaire, the leader did the job properly (0-3) on two ends of first sets with a knife and an almost perfect Pablo Koukartsev (26 pts at 23 out of 35 in attack, including 3 blocks).
Chaumont and Mathis Henno (20 pts) keep up the pace and return to the MSL podium after a victory over Paris (3-1) which places the two Ile-de-France clubs in the bottom two ranks of the ranking. Indeed, in the poorly ranked match, Le Plessis Robinson fell to Narbonne (3-1) under the arms of Twan Wiltenburg (5 blocks) and Casey Schouten (23 pts). Finally, Toulouse once again remains at home and gives in to the tie-break in front of Sète and its 13 cumulative blocks (2-3), despite two rounds in advance and 30 points at 60% success from its young sharp of 21 years old Nathan Feral.
Saforelle Power 6 (10th day)
The Neptunes have left their paradise. After nine successes in a row, the Nantes women fell this weekend in Saforelle Power 6. And it is ultimately not insignificant that the terrain of their first fall in France this season was at Le Cannet. A Voléro who has been struggling since the start of the season and who hopes to bounce back strongly behind this great success (3-1). An efficient serve (7 aces), a high block (10 blocks) and an aggressive Morgahn Fingall in the execution (24 points) therefore brought the leader of the division into line.
Nantes thus sees Mulhouse getting dangerously close, after its victory over Chamalières (3-0). A worry-free VMA, this time led by Katelyn Evans (19 pts). Levallois Paris, on the other hand, does not take advantage of the opportunity and slips at home in front of Terville Florange (2-3). Mosellanes like in the finest hours, with a compact and solid wall (18 cumulative blocks) including 6 for the formidable Tatiana Kulikova (18 pts to 13 out of 21 in attack).
Vandoeuvre Nancy therefore returns on the heels of the outgoing champion after having mastered Bordeaux Mérignac in Gironde (1-3), at the end of a disciplined match, with only 16 unforced errors in four sets! In a duel of the heart of the ranking, Marcq-en-Barœul has a second success in a row, after having fought a great battle of 2 hours 20 minutes in the Pays d'Aix Venelles (3-2). Katarina Pavicic brought down the hail with 26 points including 6 aces!
Finally, Béziers put an end to three losses in a row by winning solidly in front of Quimper (3-0) with 17 units for Karin Sunderlikova. And France Avenir 2024 remains at zero on the clock after Cannes nimbly bit it (0-3) at both ends of the game, with 8 aces and 10 blocks combined.
LBM (7th day)
The good life continues for Ajaccio which now remains the last undefeated team in lnv. On Saturday, the Corsicans displayed total mastery in Saint-Quentin for a seventh success in a row (0-3) in just over an hour. A victory hoisted high on a concrete wall (14 blocks including 5 for Celian Talon).
From a distance, Fréjus resists and sends Nancy away, after a solid performance in Lorraine (0-3), where the Var attack was often right (57% total success). Martigues also tries to keep pace and inflicts a sixth consecutive defeat on Royan (3-0). With 11 points at 8 out of 12 in attack including 3 blocks, Antonin Roulleau was effective.
Saint-Jean-d'Illac, on the other hand, was completely surprised by the young federal guard! In Gironde, France Avenir 2024 scored its first success of the season (1-3), in the footsteps of Andrej Jokanovic (20 pts including 3 blocks). Finally, Cambrai balanced the scores by taming Reims (3-0), with a well-inspired Matej Smidl (18 pts to 15 out of 24 in attack).
