Samuel (Love is in the meadow 2025) recounts his difficult PMA journey to have his daughter

With his ex-partner, he resorted to assisted reproduction to have their daughter, Angèle. Facing Karine Le Marchand, he spoke openly about his role as a father that he cherishes more than anything.

On January 13, M6 kicked off the 20th season of Love is in the meadow with the distribution of the famous portraits. This year, there are 15 single people (three women and 12 men) who are embarking on this rural adventure which, for sure, will change their lives. Among them, Samuel, a 49-year-old wine grower and producer of Cognac (a first on the show!) who was presented this Monday, January 20, 2025 during the second evening broadcast on M6. Facing Karine Le Marchand, he returned to his professional career, he who took over the farm alone without having had the recognition of his father. He then opened up about his romantic past.

It's at the age of 15, 16 that he had his first “true” girlfriend before meeting his “first serious love“ at the age of 20. A story that lasted two years. “Why did it stop?“, the host asked her. “It's me actually, I had very little experience, I wanted to know something else“, he replied. After this breakup, Samuel did not make a series of conquests, far from it. “I have never been able to invest myself in a relationship without having feelings, one-night stands, I have never had any“, he explained. In total, three women were important in his life, including one with whom he stayed for eleven years.

After three months, they moved in together and had a child seven years later, a little girl named Angela. “It's my little miracle“, confided the farmer. And to explain why: “We had to resort to PMA (medically assisted procreation, editor's note.) to be able to have Angèle. It was an obstacle course, it was complicated“But since becoming a father, Samuel's daily life has changed radically.”The role of dad was the dream of my life (…) It's my happiness, my joy of living, my sunshine“, he confided. Two years after the birth of their daughter, his ex-partner learned that she had breast cancer which returned a year later. “The illness, at the beginning, tightened the bonds a little, but after cancer separated uswe no longer understood each other, she wanted us to separate“, he said.
