It’s hard to participate in Koh Lantaadventurers can all attest to this. But Sophia, an adventurer recently eliminated from the so-called edition of The Cursed Tribemore specifically. Indeed, the charming brunette, a sports coach by trade, had a lot of trouble upon her return from the TF1 game. Hormonal imbalance, hair loss and weight problems, she confides in Purepeople on the consequences of the show on his daily life.
How did the return to reality go?
It was physically complicated for me because I was really very, very weak. I had lost all my muscle mass and it was complicated for my job, as a sports coach. I had to find my muscle quickly, to regain my strength. I suffered from hair loss upon my return, from hormonal imbalance because I didn’t have my period for 4 months. We are accompanied by the Koh-Lanta medical team but we still have to be careful about all that. We complement each other a lot. Even today I have deficiencies, after-effects in relation to the adventure. The relationship with food is also complicated: when we come back, we have access to everything after having been deprived, it is synonymous with comfort. I couldn’t necessarily stop eating, I quickly regained weight but the muscle came back with difficulty. Luckily I’m a coach and I know how to do it because it’s complicated to manage.
How long did it take you to get your body back?
I had to resume the coaching activity almost immediately. But my body from before, I think it took me 4 or 5 months to recover it. Today, I finally found him but it was a long process. I went through several phases: I was very skinny, then I gained a lot of fat, I stagnated a lot then I had to rebuild the muscle, it’s a long process. It’s much easier to lose muscle than to gain it back.
What was your first action upon returning?
When I arrived at the final jury villa, the first thing I did was shower! I had gone 39 days without washing with clean water, because we only washed with sea water. My hair was a disaster. I shampooed 10 times, really, to remove the dirt and sand that was left behind. The water was black, black, black. Hygiene is still very limited. So as soon as I could, I stayed in the shower for an hour to repair the damage. I also brushed my teeth. And then, one of the first things I did was to write down my feelings about the adventure. Because on the island, we do a lot of introspection but we can’t write and I’m a person who loves to write.
Do you plan to publish these writings one day?
For now, I’m keeping it to myself. But why not! Because I think it could be interesting. These are authentic, unfiltered writings. Afterwards, I leave the role of writer to Cassandre, I don’t have that pretension (laughs).
