In the casting of Children are kingsone of the most important French series on Disney+ at the end of the year, Doria Tillier was logically on a promotional mission to talk about it. A classic situation for actors and actresses, but which unfortunately did not go very well. When we tell you that the acting profession is far from being a dream…
Doria Tillier's “TV malaise” sequence
Remember, on October 10, 2024, the actress found herself at the center of a particularly embarrassing sequence while she was visiting Daily (TMC). Asked about her preparation for her new role, Doria Tillier confessed that she was quickly faced with an impasse. While she thought she was taking inspiration from real parent influencers by watching their videos, she realized the void they represented. And to add that she had therefore been forced to basically learn her text, even though she understood nothing about her role.
A confession that surprised host Yann Barthès, who wanted to know how we learned/played a text without understanding it, thus launching the actress into a… particular response. “We have to say a word, finally say a sentence, a catchphraseshe stammered, nervously, unable to find the right answer. Sometimes I thought it didn't make sense.” And to continue, “It's really… I didn't understand. (…) I said once that I didn't understand and it's true but hey… There are things that I understood all the same!“

The actress protects herself after the bad buzz
A somewhat lunar and disturbing sequence, which immediately caused the audience to laugh. Likewise, many media attacked Doria Tillier to point out her attitude. However, as the actress confided to Paris Match this month, this digital cabal about her has not remained without consequences.
Indeed, she admits to not having been as coherent as possible on the set of Daily“I can understand that we feel a certain uneasiness [devant la séquence]“, but she regrets on the other hand the disproportionate reactions that this may have generated. “From there to making several articles titled like this… This is absolutely not representative!“, she lamented in particular.
Result, Doria Tillier assures: “I'm not going to go on TV anymore. I had to return to Quotidien the following week, I declined.” Be careful, she has nothing against Yann Barthes and his team, “It's not them I want to yell at“simply, she wishes from now on”[se] protect” of the media and their sounding board.
