Blue Lock is preparing to broadcast the animated adaptation of one of the most important matches in the manga. However, the arrival of this Dantesque arc is far from rejoicing the fans…

A star in technical gesture

To say that season 2 of Blue Lock encountered some difficulties is a big understatement. If the first season was rather well received by fans, the second will quickly reveal an animation quality well below what had previously been offered. Almost unanimously criticized for its animation, which some did not hesitate to compare to a Powerpoint presentation, this new season of Blue Lock seems to have been a victim of the usual production problems that lead to the distribution of a botched workdesigned in haste.

If spectators did not wait long before complaining about the more than mediocre quality of this new season, they also expressed fears about the future adaptation of the “Blue Lock vs Japan U-20” match. Indeed, the match between Japan U20 and the 11 best players coming out of Blue Lock is still considered by fans to be a major sequence of the manga and one of its most successful. Despite everything, the 8bit studio continues its work and has recently revealed the first images of its adaptation of the match.

Massacrer, little massacre bridge

Indeed, the studio has published several videos aimed at promoting the upcoming match, including two videos dedicated to each of the teams. Featuring players from both camps (Blue Lock et U-20) and their respective roles on the field, these trailers do not reveal much more but seem to meet fans still torn between the hope of superior quality for such an important moment and resignation in view of what has already been broadcast. In any case, the verdict will fall on November 9, the date on which the match should begin on Crunchyroll.

It is a shame to see that certain series, after an initial success, come back with a second season marred by animation of reduced quality. If we can easily assume that these are production and management problems more than anything elsethe recent animated adaptation of the manga Uzumaki by Junji Ito had also experienced problems of the kind which had led to a drastic drop in quality from one episode to the next. Further in the past, we could also remember season 2 of One Punch Man which, without being at the level of that of Blue Lock, had also been criticized for animation of lower quality than for its first season. While the Japanese animation industry has always been widely criticized for its exploitation of artists, it seems that his system is finally showing real signs of weakness…
