For a little over a year, Kamel the Magician has been running a magic column in Telematin. Guest in At Jordan’s this Thursday, October 3, the conjurer returned to the departure of Thomas Sotto from the France 2 morning show.
Several years ago, Kamel the Magician became famous thanks to Grand Journala cult Canal+ show in which he performed magic tricks around international stars such as Meryl Streep, Jackie Chan and Jennifer Lopez. Subsequently seen in season 7 of Dancing with the starsin which he participated with Emmanuelle Berne, the conjurer now works on France 2. Since 2023, Kamel Boutayeb, his real name, has written a magic column in Telematina program which has experienced some turmoil in recent months. Guest in At Jordan’s this Thursday, October 3, Kamel Le Magicien confided his disappointment after the departure of Thomas Sotto from the morning show.

Upon his arrival in TelematinKamel the Magician knew Thomas Sotto and Marie Portolano. “They were exceptional. I had the chance to spend more than a year with Thomas and Marie, and they were amazing”declared the magician, who only thinks well of Thomas Sotto, despite being accused of having maintained a working environment “toxic” behind the scenes of the show. “Thomas is benevolent. He is always happy to welcome me. I did a year and every time I came on set, I had the impression that it was the first time. He knows welcome, he wants to do well”he added. “He left, to my great disappointment. I was disappointed, I didn’t yet know who was going to replace him. It happened at the last moment, he wasn’t supposed to leave.”

However, Kamel the Magician is very happy to work today with Flavie Flament and Julien Arnaud, who made their premiere at the helm of Telematin last September 16. “I love these two. They have over 20 years of TV”confided the magician, who was able to speak with the two hosts backstage. “They couldn’t wait to get started. I think they did really well for the first one. I think they’re finding their feet.”he commented. For their premiere, Flavie Flament and Julien Arnaud brought together 730,000 viewers, or 25.9% of the public according to Médiamétrie. A score down compared to the first by Thomas Sotto and Marie Portolano.
