The great Claude Dubois ignited the variety of Star AcademySunday, singing with two privileged Academicians, Albert and Romie. And it was Yoann who was unfortunately the first removed from the 2025 cohort.

Albert and Romie had been chosen by director Garou the previous week during an audition allowing the two lucky ones to perform in a duo with the monument that is Claude Dubois.

Albert and Romie did not disappoint and the generous guest of the evening mentioned that he was happy to have shared the stage with these two newcomers. It’s still generous of him, he who has been doing the job since the mid-1960s.

Romie, all elegant, performed Unfaithful with the 77-year-old artist, who started the number from the stands. The young woman joined him there and the emotion was total.

Albert then took the ball with confidence on the play A singer sings. Claude Dubois took the main stage, then he delivered his piece Artistesanother classic from his repertoire, to which all the Academicians sang.

Claude Dubois, who received a long standing ovation, did not miss a single episode of the daily Star Academy.

He was touched by the work of the Academicians at the Academy. He said to Albert and Romie: “You sing well, it’s a pleasure to sing with you.”

He will resume his tour in March. Why is he still singing? asked host Jean-Philippe Dion. “If people didn’t come to my shows, I would do more, but since they are there, I do some,” he simply said.

Goodbye, Yoann

At the end of the evening, it was Yoann who was the first to go home.

As for the public, they chose to save Loïc Trépanier, who undoubtedly seduced with the power of his voice.

Then Garou, with Émily Bégin and Véronic DiCaire – Pierre Lapointe was absent, exceptionally – decided in favor of Maxim.

The director of the Academy, Garou, paid himself the treat by putting on a number paying tribute to the Rolling Stones in the company of several Academicians as well as his guests D’Amour and Jonathan Roy.

The Stones, who have been going strong for six decades, have sold more than 250 million albums worldwide.

Garou’s number was inspired by Rock and Roll Circus of the Stones. So there was circus art, but also a lot of ice time for the Academicians.

Garou sang Paint It, Blacka piece that allowed Mia, the youngest at the Academy, to once again show what she was all about.

Jonathan Roy took over Gimme Shelterwhile France D’Amour, whom Garou called the “trainer of hearts”, focused on Wild Horses. It was like real fireworks and a pleasure for our eyes and ears.

Garou already met Mick Jagger at a birthday party and sang with him in the same microphone, he revealed during the variety.

Noir Silence returns to our screens

The Beauceron group Noir Silence has covered their song We talk about youwhich was supposed to be an “album filler tune”, but which has become a staple of our local song. Noir Silence will return to the stage in winter 2026.

Marc Dupré was also the guest of the variety show.

Note that Véronic DiCaire also made her voice shine. She revisited Holidayby a certain Madonna. It is truly a fortunate choice of the production to have a director and an entire faculty who can sing.

Matt Duff arrives on variety

Mathieu Dufour, aka Matt Duff, is a faithful Star Academyhe stressed, bursting into the Sunday variety show.

Of the new cohort, he said: “They are good, they are beautiful! I love you, you are incredible!”

Mathieu says he cries a lot while watching the musical competition and he dreamed of being the one who holds the box where the Academicians leave their microphones before getting on the bus Star Academy.

Host Jean-Philippe Dion, who is also producer of Star Academyagreed to entrust him with this task for one evening.

Next week’s guests

The guests of the third variety will be Gregory Charles, Matt Lang, Pierre Lapointe – he will launch his album on set – as well as the French DJs Bon Entendeur.
