Stimulation workshops

For six years, a memory workshop has been organized at the Balivernes residence under the aegis of the association. She has also just opened a new cognitive mobilization workshop at the Deux-Rives health center. It is run on Friday afternoons, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., by a psychologist and a pair of nurses on an alternating basis. These professionals, through targeted group exercises, use different memories, executive and attentional functions.
In the absence of curative treatment, cognitive stimulation is an effective means of mobilizing and maintaining preserved capacities, slowing the progression of the disease, and improving the daily lives of patients. Its objectives are varied: building social bonds, encouraging meetings and promoting exchanges, facilitating verbal expression and communication, promoting and strengthening self-confidence and self-esteem. The sessions take place in a fun climate, to provide pleasure, well-being, relaxation and conviviality.
This activity is aimed at people living at home and with mild to moderate cognitive impairment.
