Luc Ferry (left) and Darius Rochebin crossed swords.dr
Things seriously degenerated between Darius Rochebin and his guest Luc Ferry, Sunday evening on LCI. The two men clearly don’t like each other. Here, in detail, is their heated altercation.

Luc Ferry (uninhibited right) and Daniel Cohn-Bendit (ex-sixty-eight refocused) are what we call “good clients”. With these two on set, there is rarely a dull moment. Every Sunday at 7 p.m. and for an hour, Darius Rochebin receives them on LCI to discuss current events. Last Sunday, things got seriously out of hand. Precision: Ferry and Cohn-Bendit have a soupy or, if you prefer, volcanic temperament.
The facts: while the discussion focuses on the release of Israeli hostages in Gaza, Daniel Cohn-Bendit mentions the name of Mohammed bin Salmanthe crown prince of Saudi Arabia. Luc Ferry, arms crossed over his dark brown blazer, delivers a retort, accompanied by a knowing laugh:
“He’s no better than Hitler”

On this, Darius Rochebin, the former RTS news star, who moved to LCI in 2020, takes up his guest, who was Minister of National Education. “Let’s not exaggerate”he said. Luc Ferry, professor of philosophy emeritus in the civilian sector, insists: “In Yemen (where Saudi Arabia led the war from 2009 under the leadership of Mohammed Ben Salman), it was a real genocide.”

Rochebin does not give up and then goes to lecture Ferry:
“Come on, let’s remove the comparison with Hitler, please”

-“No, no, I definitely won’t take it back,” replies Ferry, like a student standing up to his teacher. Rochebin does not give in. He puts a layer back on: “I’ll take it off for you.” Ferry then cuts off Rochebin, whose monotone voice annoys him even more:
“Wait, stop there! That’s enough, Darius! I tell you, enough is enough! I take nothing away and you take nothing away for me.”

The verbal altercation does not end there. Ferry:
“I can no longer stand your unbearable remarks (…), you are not going to give me moral lessons on History and Nazism (…) If we cannot speak freely here, it is not worth making a broadcast (…) We are simply asking you to stay in your place.”

Rochebin replies:
“Also stay in your place and stay proper. THANKS”

The show is now over. Luc Ferry, exasperated, upset, leaves the set with these words: “And I’m stopping this show, it’s over!”
Will we see him again on the LCI set next Sunday at 7 p.m.? What is certain, and this can be seen on the screen, is that Darius Rochebin is not content to pass the dishes between his two debaters. He participates in the discussion, gives his opinion, shares his knowledge, redirects his guests if he considers it necessary. In short, he is the third debater on his own show. Luc Ferry clearly believes that this is not his role. The pro-Ferry and pro-Rochebin are arguing right now on social networks.
