The inhabitants of Pontarlier and Grand Pontarlier have taken up sorting, the most reluctant having perhaps been motivated by the move to incentive billing. We are rather good students, that's a good thing, the household waste collection has been reduced since the beginning of the year, except for the large complexes and the hypercenter of Pontarlier. Unfortunately, the supply of waste recycling has not kept pace, and voluntary drop-off points (PAV) overflowing to their mouths find themselves more and more often surrounded by sorting bags. At best, because some gougnafiers take the opportunity to get rid of anything and everything. One million euros was invested to renew and expand the fleet of these PAVs.

Some are under video surveillance. For the others? “We benefit from two portable cameras, which we move as needed, for a large public event for example. And also near the PAV,” confides Jacques Prince, “we were able to fine two offenders, by viewing the images.” Others were caught thanks to information discovered on boxes or in bags: “We are authorized to open them,” informs the security advisor.
