The one who has just completed training in line assembly is certainly not afraid of heights, he who has been experiencing a roller coaster of emotions since Émily Bégin announced to him her participation in the singing competition well known to Quebecers, he a few weeks ago.

“I arrived in Montreal last Wednesday [8 janvier]we started working on the first variety, we worked on the choreography, the staging, our placements, the songs we are going to sing, the danger songs. We met the team and we were able to strengthen the links we have between the candidates,” he mentions from the outset during a telephone interview with The Daily.

At the same time, Maxim Doucet says he has received an immense dose of love and support since the announcement. “I receive lots of beautiful words, it touches me, I am grateful to have this great opportunity.”

And Maxim Doucet intends to take full advantage of this great opportunity. Even if he is a regular on stage (La Voix junior 2016, Festival de la chanson de Granby, Québec Issime), Maxim Doucet does not have specific expectations or performance objectives for Star Academy. He wants to live the experience 100%. “I don’t really have any expectations. Already, to be able to be one of the 18 candidates who were selected from the 5000 at the start, it’s already a chance, that’s already what surpasses all my expectations,” adds the friendly 18-year-old singer.

Although his goal is to make the most of it and have fun, Maxim wants to work on certain aspects, including dancing, during his adventure in Star Academy. He knows that it will be the ideal time to do some apprenticeships there, while he will be surrounded by “experienced” people.

“There are lots of things I would like to work on, including dancing! I am someone who likes basic dancing, but I would like to perfect that side. Afterwards, the vocal technique too, I would like that”

His element

Star Academy will certainly be a great challenge for Maxim, but he will be able to rely on his past experiences to move forward.

In fact, nine years have passed since his time at The Junior Voiceand many things have changed. “I’m a little older, I realize more of what I’m going through, I’m more in the moment, in other words. I am more aware of what is happening to me. To experience this at 18 years old versus at 9 nine years old, it’s really different.”

Maxim Doucet participated in The Junior Voicein 2016.

Even roommate doesn’t scare him! The singer says that while studying to be a lineman, he had to share his space with 17 other people. He is therefore delighted to have company and to share victories and defeats with friends.

First variety

It will be possible to hear the 18 aspiring candidates from Sunday, and Maxim promises a wild evening. “You are going to see the first variety on January 19, we are going to break the house, we are going to set the place on fire!”

The invitation is extended. He will try to carve out a place among the 14 candidates who will continue the adventure. The public will have a say on the fate of future academicians.
