Lenovo is enriching its storage offering with the acquisition of Infinidat, a specialist in hybrid and all-flash arrays.
Lenovo announced the acquisition of storage array manufacturer Infinidat, an Israeli company. The stated objective of this transaction is to enrich Lenovo’s offering of enterprise storage solutions and meet the growing needs of modern data centers.
With this acquisition, for an undisclosed amount, Lenovo strengthens its existing portfolio. “With the acquisition of Infinidat […] We are well positioned to accelerate innovation and deliver greater value to our customers,” said Greg Huff, Chief Technology Officer, Lenovo Infrastructure Solutions Group.
Founded in 2011, Infinidat has established itself in the market with its InfiniBox hybrid and all-flash arrays, designed to deliver high performance, high availability and high scalability. The company was named a Leader in Gartner’s 2023 Magic Quadrant for Primary Storage. According to IDC, these systems are particularly suited to businesses looking to optimize their complex workloads, particularly in the areas of AI and data analytics. Infinidat’s solutions are based on the InfuzeOS operating system and use advanced algorithms, such as Neural Cache, to maximize speed and reduce costs.
-Recently, the supplier adjusted this algorithm to accelerate access to vector databases, targeting companies wishing to personalize their use of GenAI via Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques.
