At the Guadeloupe University Hospital, we have also noted an increase in admissions linked to the flu. Last week, 35 visits to the emergency room for flu were recorded, compared to an average of 23 in previous weeks. Hospitalizations after these passages are also increasing, reaching 7 cases compared to 4 on average. Since the start of the epidemic, children under 15 have been the most affected by emergency consultations (31% of cases), followed by people over 65 (30%).

Virological surveillance: active circulation

Virological analyzes confirm the scale of the epidemic. In week 02 of 2025, 14% of hospital samples tested positive for influenza. Type A influenza is the majority, with co-circulation of subtypes A(H1N1)pdm09 and A(H3N2).
