The regional final Occitanie of the Sheep of the Young Shepherds took place this Thursday, January 16, 2025 at the agricultural high school of Figeac. Of the six candidates qualified for the national final organized on Saturday February 22, 2025 at International Agricultural Show in Parisfour are Lotois!
Four young people from Lot in the final in Paris!
The Occitanie regional final brought together 75 students, aged 16 to 24, from 8 agricultural educational establishments in the region this Thursday, January 16 at the Figeac agricultural high school.
To be the best young shepherds in Occitanie, the candidates took part in a series of theoretical and practical tests, inspired by the daily actions of the breeder, such as sorting sheep using an electronic reader, assessing health of a ewe, assess its body condition, or even trim its hooves…
-At the end of the day, six candidates qualified for the national final organized on Saturday February 22, 2025 at the Salon International de l'Agriculture in Paris: Anthony Rispal du CFAA-CFPPA du Lot ; Thibaut Rames, Ludovic Bergougnoux and Antoine Roussies from the Lycée agricole de FigeacMathieu Laur from Lycée La Cazotte (12) and Éloi Alayrac from Lycée d’Auzeville (31).
They will compete for the title of Best Young Shepherd in France 2025. They will represent their region against 36 other candidates from France (42 finalists in total).
