If you are fans of the brilliant series Peaky Blinders carried by Cillian Murphy (soon to be transformed into a feature film), then you will surely love the next series from its creator Steven Knight, A Thousand Blows. The eight-episode mini-series will be available on February 21 on Disney+ in the world and HULU in the United States.

Composed of six episodes, the plot ofA Thousand Blows takes place in the perilous world of illegal boxing in Victorian London in the 1880s. After a teaser unveiled last October, the second trailer was revealed on January 16, 2025 (in original version).
Synopsis :
The series is inspired by the true stories of a group of characters fighting for survival in the brutal East End of London in the 1880s. Hezekiah Moscow and Alec Munroe, two best friends on the run from Jamaica, find themselves thrust into the middle criminal of London’s thriving bare-knuckle boxing. As Hezekiah finds fortune and fame through the art of pugilism, he attracts the attention of the infamous Queen of the Forty Elephants, Mary Carr, who sets out to exploit his talents to further her criminal enterprise. Meanwhile, the menacing, self-proclaimed emperor of the East End boxing world, Sugar Goodson, sets out to destroy Hezekiah whose ambitions to fight in the West End threaten everything he has built. What ensues is a battle of the old world against the new.

The main casting ofA Thousand Blows is composed of Malachi Kirby (Hezekiah Moscow), Erin Doherty (Mary Carr) et Stephen Graham (Sugar Goodson). The latter is also one of the producers of the series.
