Comedy, drama, thriller, sci-fi, horror… In all categories, this year will be marked by the return (and end) of major series. Here are ten, acclaimed by “Télérama”.

En 2025, our patience will be rewarded. Some current series, among the most successful or popular, will finally give their news. The screenwriters’ strike of 2023 and the growing ambitions of certain productions have long deprived us of works that will finally resume the thread of their story. The most constant, like The Bear, almost lost sight of, like Daredevil, here are ten series that will mark their return in 2025.
“Severance”, saison 2
Three years after a very notable debut, the existential thriller produced and directed by Ben Stiller resumes its absurd, strange and moving story. Will the formidable Adam Scott and his gang manage to reconnect the two halves of their personalities, surgically separated by their employer? Response with ten episodes as intense, disturbing… and funny.
January 17 on Apple TV+.
“The White Lotus”, saison 3
After Hawaii and Sicily, the hotel anthology is heading to Thailand. In the cast, the excellent Carrie Coon (The Leftovers) et Walton Goggins (The Shield). On the menu, meditation, sandy beaches and, as you might expect, a new cleansing of rich Americans and their privileges. Hoping for a renewal, because this acid comedy was already going a bit in circles in season 2.
February 16 on Max.
“Daredevil : Born Again”
Very long after its first three seasons (2015-2018), Netflix’s best Marvel series is moving to Disney+ for a fresh start. Good news, all the main characters are there, starting with Daredevil himself of course, blind lawyer by day, vigilante at night, but also his worst enemy, the impressive Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio), and his most dubious ally, the brutal Punisher (Jon Bernthal).
March 4 on Disney+.
“Andor”, saison 2
The best series in the Star Wars universe, a tense and subtly political thriller about the birth of resistance against the Empire, is also the most naturalistic and darkest. Its second chapter should already be its last, since it covers the months that separate the series’ narrative from the film’s tragically heroic events. Rogue One, of which the series tells the beginnings.
April 22 on Disney+.
“The Last of Us”, saison 2
The successful adaptation of the eponymous video game resumes its story five years later, without drawing a line under the atrocious crime committed by Joel (Pedro Pascal) to save the life of Ellie (Bella Ramsay) at the end of season 1. A priori , the two heroes are now safe in a community firmly protected from zombies. A priori…
In April on Max.
“The Handmaid’s Tale”, saison 6
It’s been almost two and a half years since we last heard from the adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s novel, which has had its ups and downs but is sadly becoming relevant again with the re-election of Donald Trump. If nothing says that this final season will end with a happy end, she will certainly emphasize her message, a cry of warning against the threat of totalitarianism, for more sorority and less patriarchy.
In 2025 on Ciné+ OCS.
“The Prodigious Friend”, season 4
The brilliant adaptation of Elena Ferrante’s novels comes to an end with this last burst of episodes, taken from The Lost Child (ed. Gallimard, 2018). Where we discover the years of maturity and old age of Lenù and Lila, friends (nearly or far) since the 1950s. The end of a great historical and intimate fresco.
In 2025 on Canal+.
“Stranger Things”, saison 5
We had to wait three years for the Duffer brothers’ retro-horror cartoon to finally come to a conclusion. How will the gang of Hawkins kids come out of their teenage years shaken to say the least? Hopefully with a little more originality than the previous seasons, entertaining but too stretched.
In 2025 on Netflix.
“Black Mirror”, saison 7
It’s been a long time since the British anthology lived up to its beginnings. However, with each season, we begin to hope that its satire of our times becomes more relevant… and impertinent. The current context (AI, rise of nationalism, etc.) offers its creator Charlie Brooker something to shock us again.
In 2025 on Netflix.
“The Bear”, saison 4
In this list, Christopher Storer’s (very) dramatic comedy is the only one to be there every year. After a slight downturn – notably a tendency to break up his story too much – this season 4 should allow Carmy (Jeremy Allen White, covered in awards) to move forward a little. And we with him.
In 2025 on Disney+.
