A new name is added to the list of Algerian influencers who are the subject of prosecution for “incitement to hatred” or “apology of terrorism” In France. Algerian influencer Mahdi Berrais, 29, has more than 800,000 subscribers on TikTok. He was arrested early in the morning of January 13, at his home located in Bondy (Seine-Saint-Denis), with the assistance of the BRI, as learned Current Values, Wednesday January 15.

In his videos published in Arabic on social networks, Mahdi Berrais made comments like “terrorism will come back”, “I’m dropping a bomb at Defense” or even “I go down to the country and I catch, I slaughter”indicated a police source. Questioned during his hearing, he claimed that his words were jokes, that some had been distorted or still claimed to refer to an attack committed at the government palace in Algiers in 2007.
