Drama on the “DALS” floor. One of the star dancers of “Dancing with the Stars”, Anthony Colette, has just announced his ouster from the flagship TF1 program. The one who joined the headline show in 2017, and who won the competition, on the arm of singer Natasha St-Pier, last year, will not participate in season 14, which will begin on February 7.
“I haven’t decided anything”
Caught at the heart of the media storm last season during the clash between his playing partner, Natasha St-Pier, and comedian Inès Reg, Anthony Colette withdraws from “Dancing with the Stars”, without really having had any the choice. “Today, it is time to say thank you to the public and to all the teams who work on this program,” he posted on his Instagram account. It would be a lie to pretend that I voluntarily chose to end this adventure now. I’m also not going to pretend that it was the right time, because I haven’t decided anything. I don’t necessarily understand the reasons for my absence, of course, but life has decided otherwise, and I must accept. »
A star dancer
A hard blow for the one who had the heyday of the show hosted by Camille Combal. Star dancer of the program, Anthony Colette, funny, creative and demanding, had collaborated with the actress Joy Esther (season 8), with whom he finished fifth, then with Miss France and Miss Universe 2016 Iris Mittenaere (season 9), with whom he finished as a finalist, the actress and singer Elsa Esnoult (season 10), with whom he finished third, the actress Lucie Lucas (season 11), with whom he finished seventh, Miss France 2021 Amandine Petit (season 12, fall 2022), with whom he finished eighth and, finally, the coronation with singer Natasha St-Pier (season 13).
“My last dance”
This brutal end to the adventures with “Dancing with the Stars” does not seem to make him bitter who will, without a doubt, remain in the hearts of viewers. “Don’t worry, I won’t criticize this program that I loved so much, nor all the wonderful people I had the chance to meet,” he assures on Instagram. I hope that this magical parquet floor continues to make people dream for a long time to come. I also hope that the new young dancers, who will join the team, can experience everything I experienced [bon, presque tout hein, uniquement les bonnes choses quoi]. I have a huge thought for my friends and fellow dancers, who I will miss a lot, and I thank them for all these beautiful moments spent alongside them. And above all, I thank all my partners […]. Know that I don’t regret anything, except perhaps having been too kind and naive sometimes, if I may say so. I did my best every year. It was my last season, my last dance. »
Victim of the clash between Inès Reg and Natasha St-Pier?
The conflict between Inès Reg and Natasha St-Pier last season is one of the explanations that can be put forward for the announcement of the ousting of Anthony Colette. The host of “Touche pas à mon poste”, Cyril Hanouna, a fan of the dancer, had warned: “If he [Anthony Colette] is no longer there next year, we will know why and it will be very serious.”
Recently, Christophe Licata, ex-partner of Inès Reg, deplored the proportion that the clash between the two young women had taken, revealing that he had received threats and had even been the victim of physical attacks following this affair. Anthony Colette had also been threatened with death and insulted. His departure is likely to make the launch of season 14 of “DALS” somewhat rocky.
