A 62-year-old English skier died at the resort of Les Arcs (Savoie), Tuesday January 14 in the morning, after hitting another skier who was stationary, learned “ici Pays de Savoie” from the slopes service of the Bows.
According to initial reports, the tourist was skiing on the black slope of the Aiguille Rouge when she lost control. She hit another person around 10:30 a.m. Despite the intervention of emergency services, she could not be resuscitated. She was declared dead on site at 11:15 a.m., despite the rapid intervention of the resort's rescue trackers, assisted by teams from Courchevel, the Republican Security Company (CRS) of the Alps and an emergency doctor.
The man who was struck is 35 years old. He suffered a broken leg and was evacuated to the Les Arcs medical office. The two people involved in this collision wore a helmet, specifies “here Pays de Savoie”.
