after months of conflict, beIN Sports has finally reached an agreement with the LFP for its Ligue 1 match

As announced by L’Équipe, beIN Sports has found common ground with the Professional League regarding the distribution of its Ligue 1 poster. Enough to put an end to several months of conflict.

At the end of a conflict lasting almost six months, beIN Sports and the Professional Football League have finally reached an agreement. As announced by L’Équipe and confirmed by RMC Sport, the Franco-Qatari broadcaster has reached an agreement with the League concerning the broadcast of its Ligue 1 poster. A match acquired until 2029 for an annual amount of 98.5 million euros.

After refusing to do so for a long time, beIN Sports signed its contract with the LFP. The chain, which paid its installments late, settled the one for January which amounts to around 15 million euros. Since the start of the season, beIN Sports believed it was being mistreated by the League compared to DAZN, the main broadcaster of Ligue 1, which currently broadcasts eight out of nine matches for 375 million euros per season. The leaders of beIN were not satisfied with the programming of matches carried out by the LFP, criticizing the quality of the posters reserved for them.

The Franco-Qatari broadcaster also demanded the possibility of co-broadcasting its poster on another paid channel. The LFP has authorized it to do so only with DAZN until the end of the current season, but beIN will then be able to make requests for co-broadcasting with other broadcasters from the 2025-2026 financial year, under provided that the League accepts them.

BeIN Sports is “proud to support and promote French football”

“BeIN Sports is pleased to have resolved outstanding negotiation points with LFP Media regarding the media rights of McDonald’s Ligue 1 in , for which beIN has made a significant financial commitment – despite limited offers – for a match per week,” the channel said. “BeIN is proud to support and promote French men’s and women’s football at all levels, both professional and amateur, since 2012. Furthermore, regarding beIN’s innovative solution aimed at generating additional revenue for clubs through through sponsorship, all clubs wishing to sell their unsold sponsorship stocks now benefit from assistance in finding solutions directly with representatives of interested commercial partners.”
