Ve had the impression of not knowing where to turn in the face of the impressive quantity of new series offered by streaming platforms in 2024. Well, rest assured: in 2025, it will be… pire !

To try, if necessary, to whet your appetite and guide you through the jungle of series, here is our selection of the ten most anticipated new releases or new seasons announced to date. As for the good surprises, unpredictable discoveries and strong emotions that will inevitably punctuate the year to come, we hope to find you to talk about them throughout 2025 on Le Point Pop !

The Last of Usseason 2, on Max

The time has come when everyone who has played The Last of Us Part II watch those who currently only know the first season of the series and say to themselves: “Poor children, they have no idea what awaits them…” Spoilers strictly prohibited for the return of Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsey and an army of infected who will undoubtedly not leave them much time to play the guitar, in the continuation of what was, thanks among other things to the pen by Craig Mazin (Chernobyl), one of the favorites of 2023. Announced for spring, or summer at the latest, on Max.

Andorseason 2, on Disney+

Andorit is undoubtedly the most improbable of all the series Star Wars : sci-fi on a human level, political, far from the Jedi knights, the stories of the Palpatine-Skywalker families and the mystique that invades a little too much the rest of the franchise, which tells how resistance to the Empire is born, in the oppressed population on the one hand, and in the life of a man who nothing predestined to become a hero, Cassian Andor, on the other hand.

Its first season contained some of the finest episodes of recent television science fiction, and we sincerely hope that this second season, announced as conclusive, will live up to it. We will all hold our breath together as we watch Disney+, from April 22.

Severanceseason 2, on Apple +

We are already talking about it among the most anticipated series of January: the second season of the dystopian thriller by Dan Erickson and Ben Stiller, which puts the excesses of the corporate world through a Lynchian mill, took three years to make, but promises to be just as exciting and confusing as the first. We can’t wait to find Adam Scott, John Turturro, Britt Lower and Patricia Arquette (among others) in the basements of Lumon Industries on Apple TV+ from January 17.

Stranger Thingsseason 5, on Netflix

The time has come to say goodbye to Eleven, Mike, Max and their friends, this time faced with a threat that goes far beyond them since it threatens to invade the entire reality. Finally ! some will sigh, who no doubt find that Stranger Things has, since its thunderous debut in 2016, pulled a little too hard on the string of 80’s nostalgia and missed the arcs of some of its characters in the process.

It is nevertheless a striking series, one of the most popular on Netflix, which ends this year in what we hope will be fireworks, and we remain very curious to find Millie Bobby Brown, Winona Ryder , David Harbor and the others for one last lap. No definitive date yet, but a promise of broadcast sometime in 2025 on Netflix.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdomssaison 1

Certainly one of the events of the year: now is the time to discover the second series derived from Game of ThronesAfter House of the Dragon. This time we find ourselves in Westeros somewhere between the two series, alongside an idealistic knight seeking his place in the rather cruel world of George RR Martin.

Readers of the short stories adapted here predict a certain change in tone, lighter and tending more towards traditional medievalist fantasy, for this Game of Thrones without dragons, the distributor of which we do not yet know in (probably Max, according to all logic) and announced on HBO for the fall.ALSO READ What we know about the new “Game of Thrones” spinoff series

Alien : Earthseason 1 on Disney+

If in space no one heard you scream, will it be the same once you arrive on Earth? For the first time, the universe ofAlien ventures onto our good old planet, and a very smart person can predict whether this is a good or a false good idea.

The most encouraging news is still the identity of the screenwriter responsible for bringing to life this seemingly very classic story of a spaceship crashing on Earth with particularly dangerous monsters on board, since it acts of Noah Hawley (Fargo, Legion). A name synonymous, if not with success every time, at least with proposals always worthy of attention and curiosity. No definitive date yet, but a series announced for the second half on Disney+.

Zero Dayminiseries, sur Netflix

Another great actor at the end of his career who comes to try out the TV series, you will tell us, because you like it, sometimes, will show teases. You’re not completely wrong, but this time it’s still Robert de Niro, and in a political thriller where he plays a former president of the United States returning to business to investigate a deadly terrorist cyberattack.

In the middle of all these seasons 2 or 3 of science fiction series, we want to believe in this new thing, and we will be there to see it. Netflix from February 20.

The Studioseason 1, on Apple TV+

Second bet on the new in this selection: The Studioa satire behind the scenes of Hollywood by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, the authors of the “teen comedy » SuperGravememorable, certainly, but which still dates back to 2007. Prestigious cameos of all kinds, a Seth Rogen who we guess is perfectly in his place as a producer on the downward slope and overwhelmed by events, and the hope of ‘a superior quality series like the Apple platform seems to have known how to order them for several years, this will lead us to connect without fail to Apple TV+ on March 26.

Black Mirrorseason 7, on Netflix

Certainly, Charlie Brooker’s technodystopian series has lost its splendor since its first episodes (which date back to 2011), straying somewhat into an expected moralism and rounding the corners a little too much. The beautiful cast already announced (Peter Capaldi, Paul Giamatti, Emma Corrin, Rashida Jones or the return of Jesse Plemons and Cristin Milioti) nevertheless gives hope for a return to form. No precise broadcast date has yet been announced for these six new episodes, which we hope will be the second half on Netflix.

The Handmaid’s Taleseason 5, on Disney+

Another notable series from the past decade to bow out this year, The Handmaid’s Tale has of course long gone beyond the framework of adaptation in the narrow sense from the terrible dystopian novel by Margaret Atwood, whose story did not go beyond its first season. Elisabeth Moss, in addition to playing June Osbourne/Fred one last time, will direct four episodes where her character will be forced to settle her final scores before, at least we can hope, returning to a less nightmarish life. Expected since 2022, the final season of The Handmaid’s Tale will be broadcast sometime in 2025 on Disney+.

There’s a little more, can I tell you anyway?
