Despite his elimination in the semi-final, during the show Prodiges, broadcast Thursday December 26 on France 2, the young singer from Béziers had a great experience.
“I was just very happy to be there, very happy, it was magnificent,” smiled Arthur. Last September, the 13-year-old from Biterrois took part in the filming of the show Prodiges. His semi-final was broadcast this Thursday, December 26 and, despite his elimination, he will remember an experience “humanly very rich, with great encounters”.
It all started two years ago, when Arthur won the “Tremplin Jeunes Talents” in Béziers. After three years of singing in the “Petits chantants de la Trinité” choir, he found himself propelled to the forefront and took part in the show “The Voice kids” on TF1. Last April, he was contacted by France 2 production to participate in the Prodiges selections, which he successfully passed. In September, he spent two weeks in Paris for filming.
“A very family spirit”
A stay that he remembers with a smile: “We were all together, with the other prodigies. We had a vocal technique teacher, we rehearsed with the orchestra.” “We stayed at the hotel and it was really in a very family spirit, continues Nelly, her mother. They all came together, with the same passion, and there was a great atmosphere. Even today, they call each other several times a week.”
On the day of filming, he sings The woman is mobile from the opera Rigoletto, composed by Giuseppe Verdi, with an assurance and a smile that greatly pleased the jury. And in particular to Julie Fuchs, the soprano with three Victoires de la Musique Classique, who appreciated “his joy and his generosity”. But unfortunately this was not enough since the young Biterrois was not selected among the two finalists.
“I was really happy for the others”
However, he showed a big smile at the time of the verdict. “I wasn’t really disappointed because I was happy for the others, he says. Obviously a little, but I was very happy to have been able to participate in all of that.“A fair reward for this hard worker who also practices the violin and who practices daily for at least two hours in singing as well as music theory with a private teacher. All with a classic school career, since he is in third grade class.
Even though it’s still unclear, Arthur knows he wants to make music his job. “I want to work even harder, improve myself, he indicates. I don’t know if it will be in the vocals but that’s what I want.”
