Although at the beginning the business worked rather well, over the months the situation unfortunately deteriorated. Customers then became increasingly rare. Debts started piling up and bailiffs were showing up at the door. Bad management, questionable hygiene and cuisine that could be improved: Philippe Etchebest then aimed to redress the situation and get this establishment back on its feet.

A successful bet since following its visit and months later, the establishment was still indeed open. Several videos were broadcast on social networks to show the atmosphere of this “bar restaurant-crêperie, on site or to take away – karaoke and events”.

On the menu side, we mainly found pancakes like “the chef’s beaujolaise”a recipe made during the show with Philippe Etchebest, composed of cooking sausage with red wine sauce, fried poached egg, onion confit with tarragon at the price of 16 euros.

On the internet, following the passage of the MOF, opinions were unanimous: “We came for dinner with our 2 young children. Nothing to say, hearty and very good pancakes! We ate very well” or even “Very warm welcome, really great meal! Only positive things I recommend”.

Unfortunately, this did not last since last December 4, Alexis announced via a Facebook post the end of this adventure: “It is with immense sadness that I announce the permanent closure of the creperie at Father Alex. This decision was not easy to make, because I would have liked to continue to share many more moments with you, around my cooking and your conviviality which have enriched me so much. Unfortunately, life pushes me today to turn this page”.

An announcement which caused a lot of sadness from customers who did not hesitate to come forward under the Facebook post. We could thus read numerous messages of disappointment such as the following: “I don't know what to say, I'm overwhelmed by this announcement but above all it's a shame because it was a good, nice, pleasant and friendly little place.”

However, despite the closure of the restaurant, Alexis still hopes to continue to organize certain events: “However, this is not a complete goodbye. If the opportunity arises, I would like to organize evenings or one-off events to continue celebrating the good times with you. I will keep you informed if this becomes possible.” To be continued.
