One Christmas evening, a second-class angel comes to support a man on the verge of despair… Humor and love are inseparable in this film that has become cult, a sincere Hollywood tale that mixes social realism and the marvelous to make humanism triumph. The author of The Stranger, that posterity tends to smooth over, had a complex personality. And this documentary superbly recreates this fabric. Thanks to numerous archives (often rare, sometimes colored), he makes us discover the inner man and his torments. A portrait full of keys to understanding the writer.
