Koh Lanta is certainly the survival show the best known in France. But it is far from being the only program on this theme that the channels are offering at the moment. After six years of absence, The Island returns to the screens thanks to M6. The show was a hit during its broadcast between 2015 and 2018. But it ended up being stopped.
Ultimately, this judgment is not definitive. As M6 confirmed on its Instagram account, The Island, penal colony will be broadcast from Tuesday January 7, 2025. If the title of the program has not changed, the content has however been extensively modified. Moreover, the names of ten personalities who have been chosen to participate in this new season are already known.
M6 brings together a prestigious cast for the new season of The Island
The first change is the presentation of the show, which will no longer be provided by Mike Horn. From now on, it is Loury Laga French adventurer, who will host the M6 program. As for the participants, they have just been revealed by the television channel.
For the 2025 season of the show, several athletes will be there. The cast is in fact made up of Sidney Govou, a former footballer, Pierre-Ambroise Bossethe 800 meter world champion, and Lucie Bertaudan MMA fighter. Actors will also participate in the adventure: Terence Telle et Patrick Puydebatrespectively known for their role in Here it all begins et Helene and the boys.
M6 wanted to build a diverse team for the new season of The Island
Other personalities from television or social networks will also make their entry into The Island 5. Julien Cohena second-hand dealer who made himself known in Deal donewas thus selected. It is the same for Cute Roostersa sports journalist, as well as two former Miss France, Delphine Wespiser et Nathalie Marquay-Pernaut.
Daniela Capone, a famous content creator on social networks, was also chosen to participate in the adventure The Island 5. In short, M6 et Endemol (the production company) have brought together a cast as varied as it is prestigious, which should attract many viewers from January 7.
“The goal was to have a varied group”also affirmed Jean-Louis Blotthe director of Endemol. As for the participants, they all underwent 48 hours of survival training before taking off for Thailand. As for the survival conditions, they are known to be difficult. Candidates are only entitled to 30 liters of water for the whole adventure.
