There are series that take a long time to be renewed and others are renewed just a few days after release. This is the case for fiction currently number 3 in Prime Video’s Top.
It didn’t take long for this animated series to be renewed. The series Secret Level is already renewed for a season 2 on Prime Video, which has more than 40 new films and series to watch this holiday season. While the 15 episodes of Secret Level were put online twice, on December 10 and 17, 2024, the day after the new salvo, Prime Video announced that it had ordered a new season. This express renewal shows that the idea was undoubtedly already in the minds of the leaders of Prime Video and the good figures for the launch of the series have visibly confirmed them in this choice. It must be said that Secret Level achieved the biggest launch of an animated series on Prime Video, ahead of Sausage Party, The Legend of Vox Machina or even Hazbin Hotel. Each of the first eight episodes is estimated to have accounted for 155.3 million minutes of viewing.
Secret Level (Prime Video): a season 2 despite a mixed reception
If the series achieved a record launch on Prime Video, that does not mean that Secret Level is popular with subscribers of the streaming platform. On the American review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, the series only has 67% positive reviews. “Although almost all the episodes are visually impeccable, most of them suffer from a cruel narrative void”we wrote when the first burst of episodes was released in an article which detailed our cruel disappointment after viewing Secret Level.

Pac-Man, Crossfire, Warhammer 40000 (which will be entitled to a series with Henry Cavill)Donjons & Dragons, Armored Core, New World, The Outer Worlds…Each of the 15 episodes of Secret Level is dedicated to a different video game universe. A season 2 should give pride of place to other universes derived from famous video games.
