The year 2023 ended with a touch of sadness for the entire team of Mysteries of love. Just a year ago, Philippe Vasseur, the unforgettable interpreter of José since Helene and the boyshas in fact announced his departure from the series broadcast every weekend on TMC.

In his departure message, the one who had been part of this beautiful group of friends for around thirty years simply indicated that he now wanted to “carry out projects he has had for years”. But last August, the actor revealed, in a very blunt manner, the real reasons for his departure. “I spent half my life saying these texts. As long as I had fun, it was fine. With my friend Patrick Puydebat, we had some good sequences, we had laughs, despite the long days, despite the texts… which I found light (…) I was no longer having fun and I had difficulty learning the texts, it was becoming too heavy for me, I just wanted to of quality (…) At 58 years old, I have the right to say that I want to act in quality things, to say quality texts where I take pleasure, something that makes me hard!”he said before repeating it last November. “We didn’t have much to gain with these texts but no chance of being able to demonstrate what we knew how to do elsewhere and we never had the opportunity to give muscle to these characters”he said a few weeks ago.
