For good reason! At 11:10 p.m., the debate intensified when the subject of immigration law was raised. The insoumise denounced in particular the “assimilation“operated by”the extreme right“come in”immigration and insecurity, immigration and sexual violence“. Remarks which visibly put Julien Odoul beside himself. Feeling directly targeted, the latter did not hesitate to interrupt his rival before replying: “There is a sourced and obvious link.”
“You know what, I’m tired now of you not letting me finish my sentences. That’s actually enough! That’s enough!“, then launched Manon Aubry in front of the cameras. To which her opponent replied: “Calm down, relax Madame Aubry, have a glass of cold water! You say outrageous things“. A remark which aroused general indignation.

“No then, sexist remarks Mr. Duhamel, I’ll take my microphone and I’m leaving“, indicated the elected left-wing representative.
Annoyed, Benjamin Duhamel was therefore obliged to reframe his guest: “Stop! We’re going to make things extremely clear Julien Odoul, we don’t talk like that to debaters, we don’t say “have a glass of water and calm down”, these are things that are unacceptable. On this set, there is no partiality on my part in the way I conduct the debates. You have had the floor and I remind you that in a discussion we do not address people, especially the two women who are on this set, by telling them “calm down, drink a glass of water”. This is unacceptable.“
This reply in fact echoes the words of the former Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, when he calmly said:Calm down, it’s going to be okay” to the journalist Apolline de Malherbe.

Exit the debate, Manon Aubry took to her social networks to denounce the attitude of her colleague. “Scandalous sexism of the RN deputy Julien Odoul who disrespected me during the entire debate and required a call to order from BFM. That’s what the extreme right is: contempt for women and hatred of debate“, she wrote on X (formerly Twitter)
And Julien Odoul adds: “Unlike these Islamo-leftists, the RN does not sort the French according to their skin color or their religion. Yes, you need to calm down and hydrate!” Ambiance…
