This Sunday on Tout le monde en parole, viewers were able to attend an interview that was, to say the least, muscular with the Minister of Health, Christian Dubé, a segment which did not fail to polarize in Quebec living rooms.
On the one hand, some viewers salute the courage of Minister Dubé to appear in a seat that is, to say the least, hot and to answer questions while remaining calm and smiling. We must do the same. Despite certain flaws in his speech, Minister Dubé managed to put on a good face, explaining that he is now tackling the task of retaining doctors trained in Quebec in the public network and reestablishing a balance with the private sector.
He also announced on the Sunday set that he will not seek another mandate.
Comments to congratulate him on his involvement were numerous on social networks, as were those who decried the treatment that had been reserved for him on the set, between the incisive questions of Guy A. Lepage and Paul Arcand and the pointed comments of the madman of King Jean-Sébastien Girard (whom we adore in this context).
- « We complain that politicians don’t go on TV and radio shows for fear of being tarnished. At least Mr. Dubé presents what is happening. Well, I didn’t agree with everything but we can say that it looks good. »
- « Minister Dubé is a nice man. And I believe he is honest and full of good will. He gets rocked solid. I think that Paul Arcand (whom I love and respect) should succeed him. I would wish him luck. I am not a CAQ, far from it, but I find that we are hard on politicians. »
- « Finally someone who makes decisions and stands up »
- « After giving ten years of his life to hard work, he made the right decision, he deserves a great retirement surrounded by his family. »
On the other hand, many viewers praised the relevance of Paul Arcand, who was invited on the set to talk about the documentary Poirier, le testament, and who did not hesitate to severely question Minister Dubé, taking practically more than place that Guy A. Lepage.
In the end, Paul Arcand was himself, in a context where he seemed as comfortable as a fish in water doing what he did for years with the politicians invited in his column at 98.5 FM.
- « Our dear Paul Arcand, quite simply in his element by questioning Minister Dubé this evening »
- « Well done Mr. Arcand…for bringing out the real things! »
- « Paul Arcand gives it to you solidly and it’s very interesting »
- « I love Paul Arcand! Ask him the right questions! »
Obviously, Mr. Arcand’s insistence on confronting Minister Dubé did not go unnoticed. As the interview ended for Mr. Dubé, he indicated his desire to stay on set: “I can stay a little bit, but do I have to be seated next to Paul Arcand ? “, he said, smirking.
It was a good fight!
