This Tuesday, December 3, Cyril Hanouna took the time to speak in “La tribu de Baba” concerning the uncertain future of “Touche pas à mon poste”, destined to disappear after the Arcom decision last July to not renew the frequency of the C8 and NRJ12 channels on DTT from February 28, 2025. Although the Canal+ group attempted to appeal to the Council of State, it deemed its request inadmissible, “because premature”. The group will now have to wait for notification of the final decision of the rejection of its application by Arcom before being able to return to the Council of State. But the timing looks very tight and leaves doubt about the future of “TPMP”, a pillar of the C8 grid.
“I’m going to have to make budget cuts”
Asked by his columnists about the future of the show, the host was confident, while announcing major adjustments for the daily talk show. “I'm working on your future, I was still in a meeting with the group this morning“, he explained, with a smile on his face. “Do I look saddened?“, he added, before continuing: “We work, and we work well. On December 19, it will be the last of 'TPMP'… of the season, we will of course return in January”, he announced.
“Do you feel anxious, preoccupied? No way“, he added to reassure his group of columnists. “I won't hide the fact that I won't be able to keep everyone either. I'm going to have to make budget cuts. And those closest to retirement will be the first to be affecteds,” he joked. “No, I like to tease you but don't worry“, he clarified. But to the question of whether there will be “salary cuts“, he replies: “Yes, there will be salary cuts. I'm not kidding about that. But it doesn't matter, we all play the game“, he conceded.

Regarding the team, he added: “You'll come back of course and I'll explain what we're doing. It's settled.” If Cyril Hanouna has not yet revealed where “TPMP” will be broadcast after the closure of C8, he confirmed that the show would remain within the Canal+ group. “We will stay in the group” he said, hinting that the show could move to a channel like CStar.
The host took the opportunity to thank his loyal viewers: “There are a lot of people who come to see me and say to me: 'Cyril you are not going to abandon us'. Of course, it is you who can abandon me because it is you who decide every evening whether you want to watch us or not”, he said. “As for me, I will do everything to be there with you and know that there is a good chance that it will last a long time. Thank you, because it is thanks to you, all the good things that happen to us , it's thanks to you every day who watch us because if this case comes to a successful conclusion, it's above all thanks to the viewers.” he concluded.
