In the new episodes of That’s Paris! (our opinion) broadcast on France 2 this Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at 9:05 p.m., the series welcomes a new character, that of Adrien, a comically neurotic artistic director played by Nicolas Maury. Alongside Alex Lutz and Charlotte de Turckheim, transformed into the administrator of the Le Tout-Paris cabaret, the actor finds Dominique Besnehard, interpreter of a deliciously wigged waiter and producer of the series, after having played Hervé, the eruptive and fanciful agent of Ten percent.

Self-portrait or real compositions, that is the question…. “In life, I seem fragile, but I wouldn't do this job where you have to be very tough if I wasn't strong.”he replies with a smile. What keeps this forty-four-year-old actor running, in turn director, author, stage director and singer, since he was 20 years old – he too! – left his Limousin province to discover Paris? “I never do anything for myself, or even for pleasure. If my characters allow people to accept their weaknesses and inabilities, then I am the happiest of men!”.

After nourishing himself with theater from the age of 11 to overcome the separation of his parents, he moved from the uncompromising cinema of Patrice Chéreau, to the popular comedy of Olivier Baroux, playing with labels: “I am so resistant to this! I prefer to be where no one expects mes”, warns those who, thanks to the success of Ten percent, has seen the arms of the general public opened well beyond borders: “The character of Hervé is so strong, that after having been his interpreter, I became his puppet!” he laughs. He will also meet him again next January, for the filming of a film shot in Paris and adapted from the France 2 format. In 2020, the “puppet” takes control of his ropes by directing his first feature film, Rag boywith intimate and melancholic resonances. Building on this first experience, it is for Arte that he is currently directing his first series, The seasonswith Stéphane Caillard and Géraldine Paihlas, for which he also wrote the screenplay. “As someone who doesn't have much confidence in myself, there are times when I say to myself “take a little hold of yourself”he concludes.
