From the pool to the floor: swimmer Florent Manaudou, standard bearer of the French delegation and double bronze medalist this summer at the Olympics, will participate in the 14th season of “Dancing with the Stars”, announced TF1 on Thursday.

This is the first personality to join the cast of the show, the broadcast date of which is not known, according to a press release from the channel.

Olympic champion in the 50-meter freestyle in London in 2012, the 33-year-old swimmer has won a total of six medals in four Olympics.

In October, he announced that he was joining the handball club in Nationale 2 to “complete” his training.

“It’s been very complicated emotionally since the end of the Games,” he later confided in an interview with the newspaper L’Équipe.

“Dancing with the Stars” has already welcomed several athletes since its launch in 2011, such as former footballer David Ginola, ex-skaters Philippe Candeloro and Nathalie Péchalat and former fencer Laura Flessel.

Presented by Camille Combal, the last season was won in April by singer Natasha St-Pier.

The first part of the final then attracted 3.1 million viewers (excluding replay).
