It has already been several weeks since the filming of the fourteenth season of The Voice have started. Nikos Aliagas is obviously back in action while there is only one survivor among the coaches of season 13. Exit Mika, Zazie and Bigflo & Oli. To succeed them, the show called on two new people, Zaz and Patricia Kaas, and the historic captain of the program who had nevertheless sworn that he would never come back: Florent Pagny!
The Voice : the season of renewal
In addition to this return event which should delight viewers, The Voice is full of new features, starting with the decor. It’s a brand new, very modern and completely redesigned set that the candidates have discovered since the end of October. But the upheavals also concern the mechanics of the show, which will leave much less room for battles this year. Instead of the usual three bonuses, only one evening will be devoted to this stage of the competition. For what ? Because a new test is emerging, we learn today in Le Parisien…
A new stage and a new rule for auditions
These are Groups. Among the sixteen talents of each team, the coaches will form four groups which will perform during scenes with a special staging. At the end of this stage, only six talents from each team will be designated by the coaches and thus qualified for the battles. If the French version of The Voice often demonstrates innovation with original ideas, this Group test is inspired by the one called “La Gran Batalla” in the Spanish version of the program, as reported by our colleagues. This will allow both to extend the power of coaches over the destiny of the candidates (by delaying the stages where the spectators present must vote, editor’s note) and to renew the concept which has been running out of steam over the years. Moreover, the blind auditions are also experiencing a change: for the first time, each coach will be able – by activating a new buzzer – to offer a second chance to a talent of their choice who was eliminated during this stage . This candidate will then be able to do a second blind audition!
