Plus belle la vie: summary of the episode of July 23, 2024

Patrick and Babeth surprised by Boher

Patrick is still in the throes of an existential crisis. At breakfast, he confides in Babeth that he has trouble accepting the fact that she is aging so well, unlike him. He wonders if he should consider cosmetic surgery to look younger. Babeth is amused by her husband’s behavior.

Later that day, Babeth comes up with a plan. In order to test her husband’s physical condition, she makes him believe that there is an emergency at the apartment. Patrick leaves the police station and rushes home. When he arrives, Babeth reveals to him that he passed the test. She takes the opportunity to convince her husband to stay. Babeth and Patrick share an intimate moment on the couch. Suddenly, Jean-Paul arrives at the apartment and discovers the couple naked under a blanket on the couch. Jean-Paul is amused by the situation.

Zoé is hired at the Mistral

At the Bar Le Mistral, Kilian teaches Zoé the ropes of being a waitress. The teenager has been hired for the summer season. While Kilian gives her advice on how to hold a tray, the young girl only listens with half an ear. Kilian then gets her into the swing of things by asking her to serve Jules and Morgane’s table.

Jules asks the girl for the bill, but Morgane insists on paying it, because unlike him, she works. Jules retorts that he is not homeless and that he can pay. Without hesitation, Zoé intervenes to defend the young man by saying to Morgane: “If it makes him happy”. Taken aback, Morgane makes Zoé understand that she must mind her own business.

When it’s time to pay, Morgane realizes that she has lost her wallet. As a result, Jules pays the bill. Once the customers have left, Zoé takes Morgane’s wallet out of her jacket and rummages inside.

Later, Zoé goes to the Massalia residence and gives the wallet to Morgane. She claims to have found it under the chair. The policewoman quickly understands that the teenager stole it so that Jules could pay in her place.

What secret binds Pascal and Jennifer?

Early in the morning, Pascal rummages through Jennifer’s purse and steals her cell phone. Then, he puts on the famous elephant nursery rhyme that Jennifer doesn’t like: “An elephant, who was swinging…” Jennifer hears the music, but Pascal makes her believe that it is an auditory hallucination.

Meanwhile, Samuel arrives at the police station and confides in Ariane that he still hasn’t heard from Jennifer. He is very worried about her, especially since he is convinced that she stole a powerful anesthetic from the office and that she could hurt herself. He asks Ariane to keep it a secret. For her part, the policewoman discovers that Jennifer’s phone log indicates that she has not left the neighborhood. The two investigators decide to do a neighborhood investigation and go to the doctor’s office. They take the opportunity to question Pascal about Jennifer. They ask him if he has heard from her, but the nurse tricks the police and pretends not to have any.

Gabriel, as concerned as his cousin, decides to contact Jennifer. However, from the first ring, Riva, Samuel, Ariane and Pascal notice that the young woman’s phone is in the waiting room of the doctor’s office. The nurse drives the point home and declares that Jennifer is completely twisted.

When he returns home, Pascal finds Jennifer in a panic because she doesn’t know where her phone is. She also tells Pascal that she made a mistake by leaving Samuel and that she wants to go back to him. To try to dissuade her, Pascal makes her believe that Samuel wants to have her committed. Jennifer is shocked. Then, the young woman wonders what will become of her. Pascal emphasizes that she is not alone and that she can count on him.

After dinner, Pascal offers Jennifer a herbal tea and asks her if it was indeed in a car accident that her parents lost their lives. She is both surprised and upset that he knows about this tragedy. To justify himself, he makes her believe that she told him about it the day before and that she also admitted to feeling responsible for their deaths. Jennifer reveals to him that she was eight years old at the time of the accident. In return, Pascal confides in her that he also lost his parents suddenly. As Jennifer falls asleep under the influence of the herbal tea, Pascal whispers in her ear: “How could I forget that it was you who killed them, Ambre?”
