One Piece expands its season 2 cast

Good news for fans of the franchise One Piece. Netflix has renewed its live action series and is now working on the design of its season 2. If we haven’t had any news for a few months, it seems that spectators will soon be entitled to new images. This month, the film crews are back in actionand for the occasion, the firm shares with us this year’s new recruits.

Luffy, Nami, Sanji, Zoro and Usopp will soon have company as Netflix reveals its agents from Baroque Works. The criminal organization has more than 2000 members in the anime, but the series chose a small handful to represent it. 4 actors, more or less familiarthus joining the cast of One Piece.

Created by former Corsair Captain Crocodile, Baroque Works is the lair of some of the most powerful pirates. This is particularly the case of Robin, aka Miss All Sunday, who is one of the most popular characters in the franchise. However, she has not been added to the list of characters yet. unlike Mr. 3, Mr. 5, Mr. 9 and Miss Valentine. We note that in the anime, Miss Valentine is the female partner of Mr. 5, so we expect a certain chemistry between the two performers.

The characters are respectively played by David Dastmalchian (Dune, Oppenheimer, Ant-Man and The Wasp), Camrus Johnson (The Cobblestone Corridor, Luke Cage), Daniel Lasker and Jazzara Jaslyn. The latter two are rather unknown to the general public and will have to take on rather difficult roles to stand out. With One Piece, spectators remain on their guard despite the very good reception of season 1.

Season 2 is still in preparation

Adapting an animated series into live action is never easy, but tackling One Piece is still unequaled in difficulty, except perhaps for the adaptations of Dragon Ball. Netflix has managed to do well… but for how long? Not everything was perfect in the first round of episodes, and certain details will have to be adjusted in season 2 to perfectly convince subscribers of the platform.

At the moment, we don’t have a release date to remember. However, she is not expected to return this year. For its production, Netflix is taking its time and prefers to deliver the sequel to us little by little rather than hastily, and with all the implications that this includes.
