A new city announces boycott of the new version of Intervilles, Nagui responds directly to criticism

Protests multiply following the return of the game Intervilles but without cows. Far from being intimidated, Nagui responds to criticism from fans of the original game on the social network X.

Like a snowball effect. Télévision is preparing to relaunch the game Intervilles on the air with four special issues, broadcast during the summer of 2025. The show which sees cities in France clash has not appeared on the air since 2016, with an international version broadcast on Gulli. For this big return, Nagui is in charge of this game in production and animation. In the stands, he will be accompanied by Bruno Guillon to host the entertainment. But this fervent animal rights activist decided to make some changes to the game by removing the famous cows. A decision that does not please all fans. Cities like and Mont-de-Marsan – which have won several editions of entertainment – have even decided to refuse the invitation from France Télévisions to participate in this new version.

A petition for the return of cows to Intervilles

“I think that indirectly, it is also (…) a denigration of traditions around animals like the Landes cow and others…”, Charles Dayot, the mayor of Mont-de-Marsan, told France Bleu. A few days later, it was the city of which also announced its refusal to participate in this new version ofIntervilles without cows. “As an elected representative from Bayonne, I agree with the position of all the comrades of the South-West to say that we do not distort this beautiful programconfided Olivier Alleman, municipal councilor delegated to the mayor, to our colleagues from France Bleu. For their part, the fans also made their dissatisfaction known and a Landais resident, a fan of the original show, decided to launch a petition: “No to the return of Intervilles without cows”.

Nagui's response to criticism on Intervilles

“The absence of these animals in the 2025 version is therefore interpreted by some as an attempt to reduce a popular tradition in the name of a personal ideologycarried by Nagui, against practices deemed violent towards animals”explains the author of this petition in his presentation text. So far, this text has obtained more than 2,100 signatures in a few days. When questioned, Nagui did not hesitate to speak on X to defend his convictions and invite this fan to attend the show, a “popular show”.
