On Wednesday June 26, the youth festival comes to the media library. On the program are games, shows, books, a moment to give young people a taste for reading.

The Pamiers media library opens its doors to host the 2nd edition of the youth festival. For this year 2024 the “Partir en livre” event will focus on the theme of sport and games. Organized by the national center, this event promotes the pleasure of reading among young people.

It is once again the Bibliopôle of the Portes d’Ariège Pyrénées community of communes which hosts several events. Free workshops for all, which invite readers and non-readers alike to come and meet the players in the book chain; librarians, authors, illustrators, book professionals and booksellers. An event which will take place on Wednesday June 26 in Pamiers with a reading and creativity program.

“This action is part of the continuity of the actions that we are implementing to put culture, and in particular reading, within the reach of everyone, and the youngest in particular,” indicated Alain Rochet, president of the CCPAP, in our columns last year.

A busy schedule

Activities will take place all day, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The morning will be devoted to early childhood and the afternoon to young people and their families as well as to all those curious passing by. Shows, breakdancing, drawing, shadow theater and board games are the activities planned for the morning.

In the afternoon it’s illustration, comics, breakdancing and drawing. Books can be won with the Handbook workshop. An interactive exhibition, “Lux Intenebris” is organized for the little ones. For older children, there is the Blink Book digital workshop, animated coloring pages. Stands will be set up with a selection of favorites from Appamean bookstores. A refreshment bar run by the Children’s Youth Service and a meditation workshop will also be on site to refresh and relax. Books, rugs and armchairs will be made available for quiet reading.

During the day, Oxygène FM radio will conduct interviews with speakers and participants. To round off this event, professional dancers from the L-DANSE company will present their breakdance show at 5:30 p.m. These workshops will take place from Wednesday June 26 to Thursday July 11 in the media libraries of Pamiers, Mazères, Saint-Jean- Du-Falga, Saverdun and Les Pujols.
