A simple phone call put an end to all his hopes. This Monday, November 11, M6 broadcast the thirteenth episode of season 19 of Love is in the meadow. Viewers were able to find Christophe who had decided to welcome his suitors Yann and Guillaume to the farm. But the choice of the latter did not please those around the farmer. At issue: their age difference of 32 years. Thus, the winegrower and sheep breeder in New Aquitaine was forced into a corner by his children. “My daughter was crying earlier. At the family level, this is not going to happen. […] At the age I am, I don’t intend to be cold with my children.“, he explained to the 25-year-old young man.

Consequently, Christophe announced to Guillaume that he did not wish to continue the adventure alongside him under these conditions. The tourism student was therefore asked to pack up and was escorted back to the station in tears. In a live organized on TikTok following the broadcast of the episode, the suitor answered questions from Internet users and spoke about his feelings during filming. “The emotions were real. It was a while ago but at the time, I was really, really sad. I was depressed for about two weeks afterwards.“, explains the man who was consoled by one of his friends in Bordeaux for a few days. “When I arrived, I was in a state. You don’t realize how huge the disappointment is“, he assures. Guillaume also went behind the scenes of this phone call. “We had finished eating, Yann was in an interview and I heard this phone call on loudspeaker and it wasn’t very cool to talk about me without knowing me because we hadn’t met them yet“, he testifies.

The disillusionment was then immense. “I understand that this could be a problem but they could have made the effort to meet with me. No one has to choose for anyone else, regardless of their family connection. […] They could have made the effort to meet me to respect me and their father’s choice. I find it a shame“, underlines Guillaume. Subsequently, an Internet user asks him if he is angry with Christophe. “I don’t blame him because in his situation, he couldn’t have done otherwise, but perhaps I blame him for inviting me to the farm and making me believe that it was possible. I don’t understand that it’s the children who decide for their father’s life. I said to myself ‘why did you invite me to the farm if you knew it wouldn’t sit well with your family anyway?'”, he replies. During his live, Guillaume did not specify whether he was still in contact with Christophe today.
